TORONTO: The Toronto Police Services Board announces the appointment of Mr. Nicola Migliore, who was appointed as a Board Member by the Province of Ontario on May 18, 2023, for a period not to exceed one year. Mr. Migliore was sworn in on June 5, 2023, and will be publicly sworn in ceremonially at his first Board meeting on June 22, 2023.
Mr. Migliore is a business owner, consultant and volunteer who has lived and worked in the City of Toronto his entire life. He is a graduate of the Queen’s University Executive MBA program, studied criminology and facility management at the University of Toronto, holds a BA from York University, and is a board-certified fraud examiner. Mr. Migliore specializes in threat risk assessments and mitigation solutions, security investigations and audits, event planning, facility management, and staffing. As a subject matter expert, Mr. Migliore has consulted and provided services globally, for numerous organizations and facilities, including school boards, universities, financial institutions, tourist destinations, the G20, the Vancouver Summer Olympic Games, the Canadian National Exhibition, and several stadiums and sporting facilities. An international presenter, and past academic instructor, Mr. Migliore is also the recipient of a number of prestigious awards in his field.
Chair Ann Morgan stated that “Mr. Migliore’s extensive and diverse background makes him extremely well-positioned to understand and appreciate the issues with which the Service is currently dealing. His clear and genuine passion for supporting Toronto and its neighbourhoods will greatly assist the Board in determining priorities that reflect community expectations and input.”
As a subject matter expert in risk assessment, security and facility management, Mr. Migliore has used his skills and knowledge to assist a number of boards throughout his career. He is currently the Chair of Runnymede Healthcare Centre, a Director of the Toronto Crime Stoppers Board, and past Director of the Toronto Victim Services, among others.
Chair Morgan continued, “Mr. Migliore brings an impressive governance background which will be an incredible asset to our Board as we continue our important work. I look forward to working with him, and welcome his vast experience, along with his invaluable and unique perspective.”
