I do hope that there exists sufficient supervision to identify officers who use unnecessary force. I also wish that officers would be trained in de-escalation techniques. The TCCS is doing great work in cases where they are called to manage mental health-related situations. I hope their role continues to expand. Anti-racism training is essential to reduce pre-conceptions that impact racialized citizens all too often.
