Rule - 2.3.1 to 2.3.3 - Civilian Members |
It is the policy of the Toronto Police Services Board that:
- Civilian members will be classified in one of the following groups:
- permanent employees
- temporary employees
- co-operative education program employees
- summer help employees
- All candidates for appointment to permanent and temporary civilian positions, except cadets and cadets-in-training, will:
- take an Affirmation/Oath of Secrecy; and
- meet any other requirements established by Human Resources Command.
- For positions that, in the opinion of the medical advisor of Occupational Health and Safety, impose significant physical or psychological demands, candidates may be required to undergo a medical examination by or under the supervision of the medical advisor. The purpose of the assessment is to certify that a candidate is fit to perform the duties required. An examination will not be conducted until after a conditional offer of employment has been extended to the candidate.
