It is the policy of the Toronto Police Services Board that the Chief of Police will establish procedures and processes regarding bail and violent crime that address:
- Assessing opposing bail on the secondary grounds;
- Preparing the show cause report (bail hearing brief) which include, at a minimum, copies of:
- the 911 call, where available;
- any video evidence available; and
- the Canadian Police Information Centre file;
- Responding in a timely manner to follow-up requests for information from the Crown Attorney;
- Post-bail hearing notifications; and
- Breach of bail conditions.
