Toronto Police Service Board to Hold Budget Committee Meeting on August 27, 2024

 

TORONTO – The Toronto Police Service Board’s (Board) Budget Committee will convene its first of three planned meetings on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The meeting will take place at Toronto Police Headquarters at 40 College Street, in the auditorium. The meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format, allowing for both in-person and virtual participation.

The Board established this Committee on June 24, 2024, with the purpose of reviewing budget requests for the 2025 fiscal year. The Committee will assess the Toronto Police Service’s capital and operating budgets, the Parking Enforcement Unit’s budget, as well as the Board’s own operating budget as these proposals are developed, prior to Board approval.

Making a Deputation
Members of the public who wish to make a deputation on an agenda item are invited to register via our website - https://www.tpsb.ca/budget-committee-deputation-request

Registered deputants can choose to present in-person, virtually or in writing only. Virtual deputations can be made via video through WebEx or by phone (audio-only). Please note that deputation requests must be submitted no later than Monday, August 26, 2024, at 4:00 PM.

The Toronto Police Service Board is the civilian body responsible for governing the Toronto Police Service. The Board is responsible for ensuring the provision of adequate and effective police services in the City of Toronto, setting priorities and objectives for the Toronto Police Service, approving the annual police budget and selecting the Chief of Police.
