It is the policy of the Toronto Police Services Board that:
- The decision to second a member of the police service is related to the deployment of Service members and is operational in nature. Therefore, the Board has delegated the authority to approve secondments to the Chief of Police;
- The secondment of officers will not interfere with the Board’s ability to ensure the provision of adequate and effective police services;
Delegation to Chair - Legal Agreement
- The Board has authorized the Chair to execute agreements relating to the secondment of officers without prior Board approval, subject to the agreements being approved as to form by City of Toronto Legal Services Division; and
Annual Reports
- The Board will receive an annual report on secondments.
