It is the policy of the Toronto Police Services Board that:
- The Chief of Police will consult with the City of Toronto and other emergency services and prepare an emergency plan that addresses the role and duties of the police service during an emergency, and the procedures to be followed by members of the police service during an emergency, procedures with respect to counter-terrorism that are consistent with any federal and provincial counter-terrorism plan designated by the Solicitor General; and
- The Chief of Police may adopt, in whole or part, any of the City of Toronto’s Emergency Plan provided it addresses the role, duties, procedures and processes of the Service during an emergency.
