Dear Toronto Police Board, My concern is the time it takes for police to respond to the public calls for help. My home was broken into and the police did not arrive for five hours. Also I had a rental property and the police did not come at all when called by a tenant. If they did, they would of caught the person who was running back and forth on the roof topgrafiting the property next door. Not showing up in a resonable time frame tells us very clearly that the public are on our own. Is it not the job of the police to answer these kind of calls? I understand that a lot of crimes occur and it's to late at that point but maybe more of a presence driving or walking in neighbourhoods would deter crime. When I see police on bikes the officers are all together casually riding. How about spliting up in the neighbourhood and keeping in contact if they need assistance from each other. More neighbourhood watch would be nice. Maybe the Toronto Police could form a neighbourhood watch division where the officers involved are proud to be on bikes and not look so awkward.
