TORONTO: The next scheduled meeting of the Toronto Police Services Board will take place on Thursday November 16, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Auditorium, 40 College Street. Copies of the agenda are available on the Board’s website at www.tpsb.ca, from the Board office and limited copies will be available at the meeting.

RE-APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD – MR. KEN JEFFERS
The Board will receive a report advising that, through an Order in Council, Mr. Ken Jeffers has been reappointed as a member of the Toronto Police Services Board for a further period of two years, effective November 4, 2017.
HEALTHY WORKPLACE INITIATIVES – 2017 ANNUAL REPORT
The Board will consider a report from the Chief which identifies health and wellness initiatives which have been undertaken by Service during the period of October 1, 2016 to September 30, 2017. The report includes information on uniform wellness initiatives, such as those focused on suicide awareness and prevention, presentations on nutrition, physical fitness and wellness, the implementation of a yoga program, initiatives emphasizing mental health and mindfulness and meditation. It also includes information about the The Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR) program developed to spark transformational culture change and enhance mental health for Service members. The report also provides information on the Service’s psychological services, including the Employee and Family Assistance Program (E.F.A.P.) and the Critical Incident Response Team (C.I.R.T.).
DENOUNCING ACTS OF HATE AND INTOLERANCE IN TORONTO – CITY COUNCIL MOTION
The Board will consider a report regarding a motion referred to City agencies by City Council with respect to denouncing acts of hate and intolerance in Toronto. The report recommends that the Board receive the motion and requests that the Chief of Police report to the Board assessing the extent to which Service governance is consistent with City Council’s commitment to human rights.
PUBLICATION OF EXPENSES – SEMI-ANNUAL REPORT
The Board will consider a report from the Chief providing information to the Board regarding the expenses incurred by Board and Service members during the period from January 1, 2017 to June 30, 2017. This report is in response to a Board Motion requiring that the expenses of Board Members, the Chief, the Deputy Chiefs and Chief Administrative Officer (C.A.O.), certain excluded members and Service members at the level of Staff Superintendent and Director, be reported to the Board on a semi-annual basis. The expenses to be published are in three areas: business travel, conferences and training and hospitality and protocol.
